Welcome to our nursery! This is where you will find our litters of available puppies, listed by their parents' names, with the mother's name first, descriptions and PayPal buttons so you can place a deposit on a puppy, or pay for it in full. We do not reserve puppies with just a verbal request without a financial commitment on your part, and we do not refund deposits, although we will happily transfer your deposit to another available puppy of your choosing, or hold it for one in a future litter. We highly recommend that you DO put a deposit on the pup you want, BEFORE you leave home to come see it. As long as its PayPal button remains active, someone else can use it to buy the pup - it's immediately deactivated upon being used. We've had people come, buy with cash and take a pup home, then found out it had simultaneously been sold online - so we had to refund the online buyer's money. When you buy from the website, please call and let us know so we don't inadvertently sell it to someone else at the same time!
PLEASE read our contract BEFORE you send money, making sure you understand and agree to ALL of the terms because your payment implies that you do and agree to be bound by it, whether you have signed a physical contract yet or not. If you wish, you may print the contract, complete your information and the information about the pup you want, then mail it to us with a copy of your driver's license.
The PayPal button for each pup will have a drop-down menu of payment options, including:
1. half-down + PayPal fee,
2. payment in full + PayPal fee,
3. half-down + $75AKC + PayPal fee,
4. payment in full + $150AKC + PayPal fee.
Each pup is individually priced, and any Scratch & Dent pup (kinked tail, under/over-bite, etc.) will NOT have AKC papers offered. We only do FULL AKC registration, not limited, so it's all or nothing, and breeding rights are included in that.
We offer a 10% discount to active-duty and retired military, and a 10% discount to senior citizens (65 and older), both with suitable identification (current driver's license, military ID, and/or DD214). The discount does not apply if you are buying a pup FOR someone who would qualify for it if THEY were buying the pup, such as a non-senior buying a gift pup for their elderly parents. The ID and discount apply only to the buyer, not to the intended recipient.
ONLY ONE DISCOUNT APPLIES PER PUPPY, and if the pup is listed as discounted already, as in a Scratch & Dent puppy, NO OTHER discount will apply.
Ready dates are when the litter is 8 weeks old and can LEGALLY go home, according to Colorado state law. No puppy will be released until that date, so please do not ask to have yours early. Our visitation hours are by appointment only from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. daily - NO WALK-INS. Please call or email to make your appointment: the phone number is 719-783-2955, and the email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Pups are numbered: 1F, 3M, etc. with their description. F= female, M = male, SM = smooth, LH = longhair, WH = wirehair.
We currently have the following deposits awaiting fulfillment, and they take precedence when the appropriate puppies are born:
Thomas B - deposit on a M English clear cream LH.
Becky S - deposit on a F mini cream LH.
IF I HAVE MISSED LISTING YOUR DEPOSIT, PLEASE EMAIL & REMIND ME!
Boysenberry is a spectacular black & tan whitened patchwork-dapple longhair from our amazing Cash Clan - she's a daughter of Candy & Rambo, and granddaughter of Cash & Apricot Brandy, all of whom produced nothing BUT spectacular puppies. ... Bosco is a pure-chocolate smooth-coat out of Dora & Ringo - Ringo descended from champions galore, and his solid-black mother gave pure-black Ringo the dominant solid-color gene that he imparted to Bosco and many of his other pups. Boysenberry & Bosco have two daughters born Sept. 22, and ready to go home on Nov. 17. These girls were born big and will be larger than our regular miniatures (probably maturing in the 14-20 lb. range). If you're looking for tweenie-size girls, here you go! We don't think there's any such thing as a "wrong" sized doxie - the bigger ones just have more of them to love, and to love YOU!!!
1F black & tan - a gorgeous LONGHAIR, just going to get MORE lovely, and our Cash Clan longhairs are THE BEST!
$1600 + $150 for full AKC registration, if desired.
SHE'S TAKEN by the PRICE FAMILY!!!
2F solid isabella - GREEN EYES and no tan points - a splendid SMOOTH-COAT!
$1800 + $150 for full AKC registration, if desired.
SHE'S BEEN ADOPTED - GOING WITH HER SISTER!!!
Tootsie Roll is a solid-chocolate soft-wirehair carrying the hard-to-find solid-color gene (no tan points), and her daughter, shown below, does as well. Tootsie doesn't carry dapple, but she does carry piebald - it takes both parents having the pie gene to produce piebald pups. Blizzard, the sire, is an American-cream dapple-piebald soft-wirehair who in his earliest days had us thinking he was completely snow-white, but dachshunds in the red series almost always change and he did - he developed some pale-cream spots. He carries the dilute gene that produces blue and isabella. Both Tootsie and Blizzard carry longhair, hence their long soft-wire coats. We won't be sure of this little girl's coat type for another couple of weeks, but she's so pretty - who really cares unless you're planning to breed her?! Just know this - the wirehairs are the clowns of the dachshund breed, and if you've never had one before, you'll wonder why it took you so long to find one - they're terrific! This girl was born Oct. 9 and will be ready to go Dec. 4.
1F black & white piebald, no tan points - unknown coat at this time. Miniature.
$1800 + $150 for full AKC registration if desired.
Many folks like to buy a puppy for Christmas, often requesting to delay pick=up until either the night before or on Christmas morning. We don't like to do that for three reasons - first, we're a family, too, and like to get together with our loved ones on those occasions. Second, this is a working kennel, and having guests arrive to conduct business during our busiest hours - mornings, especially - or in the evening after an exhausting day, just doesn't work well at all. Third, and probably MOST important, consider the puppy.
Taking an 8-week old baby pup home to all the frenzy, stress, and hullabaloo of the holidays, with extra people in the house and everyone wanting to hold it and play with it and squeeze it and feed it everything imaginable, is the worst possible thing you could do. At that age, even with one or two puppy shots, its immune system is not fully developed and functional, and it will collect every germ it's exposed to. (That's why we recommend NOT taking your new pup to pet stores and the dog park before it's at least three months old.) Also, its digestive system is still getting used to solid food (we NEVER recommend giving a weaned puppy MILK), and we HIGHLY recommend continuing the use of the Purina Puppy Chow we start them on, until the pup is at least several (six or more) months old. At that time you can gradually transition it over to another brand of dog food, or to Purina Dog Chow, as we do with all of our dogs. Stress and suddenly switching its diet is guaranteed to produce diarrhea (often bloody). Feeding your puppy all the rich, fatty foods so common during the holidays is never a good idea - it can develop pancreatitis and die in a very short time.
So, what's the solution? We have these beautiful little girls available right now that will be ready to go home before Christmas, giving yours time to get accustomed to you, your family and your home. You can start potty-training and crate-training it before the worst weather starts, and have it ready to stay in its safe little "den" (the crate) during the festivities - not underfoot, where it can be kicked or crushed before anyone knows it's there. By that time, your baby will be older and used to the family ways, and you will have a much better experience than taking it home at 8 weeks.
Give it some thought, but don't dally too long - these are the only pups we have that will be ready to go home before Christmas - and they are some super-cuties out of some of our top bloodlines, so they should have sweet, loving personalities to go along with their superb Flickennel good looks.
DUE 11-16 - IVY & BOSTON.
Ivy and Blizzard (shown above) are piebald littermates, carrying many of the same genetics, but she is smooth-coated and he's a soft-wirehair (carrying longhair). They are both dapple, shown conclusively by blue in one eye, besides carrying chocolate and the dilute gene that turns it to isabella. She also shows a trait not usually seen in red dachshunds unless they're sable - she has cream "points" on her face! ... Boston is a smooth chocolate & cream piebald, carrying the dilute gene to turn chocolate to isabella - we're hoping to see isabella & cream piebald pups here! Both parents are minis, so we also anticipate mini pups.
DUE 11-20 - MEGHAN & HARRY
Meghan and Harry are both English royalty - imported as pups by Janet straight from English breeders! They are TRUE ENGLISH CREAMS - they even bark with a British accent! Both were born last year, so they're still testing the waters of parenthood. If they are successful, we should have ONLY golden longhair English creams; whether shaded with black like the parents, or clear cream, remains to be seen. Clear cream is the "holy grail" of cream dachshunds, much rarer than shaded cream. We have other clear-cream dogs, but these are our only direct-from England dogs.
DUE 11-21 - CRYSTAL & DASH
Crystal is a fantastic blue-eyed, blue & tan, whitened, salted-dapple longhair out of our fabulous Candy & Rambo, who ONLY made great puppies - of course, because Candy was a daughter of CASH, our King of the Kennel! Dash is a smooth blue & tan piebald (with some ticking), out of Tulip & Max, whom we bred to draw out their dilute genes - which Dash got! Breeding two dilute blue dogs, we hope to get nothing but dilute blue pups - but Rambo and Max were both chocolate, so we could get dilute isabella, too - and dapples or not, and smooth or longhair. Crystal looks brown in this photo, but she has the gray nose of a blue, and she was blue-blue at birth. She may also carry her grandmother Apricot Brandy's piebald gene, so we may have full piebald pups - whatever, they're going to be lovely!
