INTRODUCTION:
These five pups were born October 24, 2011 and were ready to romp away to their new homes on December 19. They're even MORE ready now!!! Pups this age are more than ready to learn obedience, house-training, etc. and are much more capable of going outside on long walks, playing in the snow and doing all the other fun things dachshunds love to do, than if they were going home at only 8 weeks old.
THE PARENTS:
Petunia is a very pretty longhaired red dapple who hasn't shown her dapple spots since she was a pup - except for a whitish dot in her left eye as an indicator, you'd never know she was dappled. However, we know Ringo is not dappled, and one parent has to be in order for them to have dappled pups, so guess who's dappled!
Johnny Ringo is named for one of those black-garbed gunslingers, but he's out of rootin' tootin' champion stock and his pups sure show it. These are some of the most attractive he's ever produced, too - we are definitely pleased with them! Smooth-coat trumps longhair every time, and these parents produced an all-smooth litter last year, so we're confident these will be, too.

THE PUPPIES:
PUPPY #1 is as solid-black as a pup can get without falling in a bucket of black ink, and on a dachshund, the look is simply delightful - as classically beautiful as black & tan is, pure black brings up thoughts of richly luxurious black velvet, moonlit nights, and black notes dancing across a sheet of music. Come meet this beauty and see for yourself! She's priced at $650 with her full AKC registration, or a mere $600 without it.
MOTHER:
Petunia is one of the last daughters of our old show-dog, Levi, and has his absolutely wonderful disposition and prize-winning looks. (At his very first show, he won his Category and went on to take Best of Winners in his Division.) We took Petunia to the Weeniedog Races in Canon City in June 2010, where she won a 'bronze' third-place medal in her puppy race (under 1 year old - her birthday was the next day!). Petunia loves to fetch a tennis ball as long as we'll throw it for her - we get tired of the game long before she does!

Many of his progeny have been solidly inky black - not one lighter hair anywhere. With the right female, he also produces solid chocolate. His sire was a Champion wirehair, as were his grandfather and great-grandfather, but his mother was smooth and Ringo got her smooth genes instead of the wirehair. He has made a couple of solid-black wire pups, but only with a black & tan (dapple) wire female, which we did for a special-order litter.

PUPPY #2 - Wow! Everything I said about the first pup goes for this one as well! BUT, the first girl is more of a "cool" coal-black while this one is a "warm" reddish-black - they're not really identical when you put them side by side. However, she's the same price as her ebony sister above - $600 without papers, $650 with.
Petunia's medal and 3rd-place ribbon from the 2010 Hot Diggity Wiener Races in Canon City, CO. We are quite proud of our spunky little girl - she's a winner in our hearts!
PUPPY #3 is the only red one in the bunch, taking after her mama, even down to her little sprinkle of darker-red dapple spots which COULD fade a bit as she gets older, as Mom's did. However, she will be a short-hair like her Dad - a breeze to care for. Unlike her sisters, she's priced at $500, or $550 if you'd like to have her registered for breeding and/or showing. All of our designer dachshunds are designed to be purebred - you never have to have them registered in order to prove they're pure dachshunds!
