FlicKennel - Dachshunds with ALTITUDE!!!

This litter was born April 22, 2008, and will be ready for their new homes on June 17th. Their mama is a very affectionate light-red wirehair, a sort of "strawberry blonde" shade. Father is a gray-colored wheaten brindle wirehair who is a regular little gentleman, not rowdy or noisy.

All the babies are wirehairs, and while the three boys are red, remember that reds NEVER stay the same as they're born. With wheaten-gold in their ancestry, these little boys could also turn wheaten, or they could stay red. Either way, they're going to make wonderful friends and family members.

Don't forget Little Sister! She's a lovely, glossy black & tan brindle, which will be simply beautiful when she grows up.

We don't have registration papers for Rosie, so these pups will only be sold unregistered.

You couldn't ask for a kinder, gentler, sweeter little mama than Rosie! She adores her babies and only leaves them when absolutely forced to, then she races back as soon as she can. She's just as loving toward people, when she doesn't have puppies to love.

Other than a slight size-difference, which doesn't show well in photographs, the three red males in this litter vary only in the small amounts of white they have on their throats, which may or may not stay until adulthood. The first pup has the most white. While they all look dark-red now, they will no doubt lighten as they get older, until they resemble their mother.

Puppy #2 has a spot on his neck, and a long thin line down his chest. Otherwise, he's a rich red.

Only two weeks old (on May 6), it's easy to see their mama loves and cares for these babies! They're all fat and sleek and very contented.

Red (wheaten) brindle, born 5-6-04.

Stripe is a strange fellow: he looks rather like a Scotty, especially after we trimmed his hair before taking this picture. For being wheaten brindle, we have to shave nearly all his hair off to see the brindle striping and golden color - he has the prettiest "salt-n-pepper" look on the outside! And that nose - that is a hunting-hound nose, true to his ancestry! ... It would be hard to find a male dachshund with a nicer, calmer, better nature than Stripe's. He produces great puppies.
