FlicKennel -- Dachshunds with ALTITUDE!!!

This litter was born Sunday, April 27, 2008. Counting forward the required eight weeks brings us to June 22, when they will be ready to go to their new homes.

Their mother, Dusty Rose, is a first-time mother and is doing a wonderful job at raising these husky little dachshunds. She is a smooth-coated red dapple piebald with ticking - her dapple doesn't show in her coloring, but in her eye that's blue. She's frisky and affectionate with people, but she adores her puppies!

The sire is our mini-dalmation-looking Domino, a strikingly-marked black & tan brindle piebald smooth-coat. Domino gives us an amazingly consistent array of piebald pups every year. Piebalds are some of the flashiest dachshunds, with colorful spots on a white background (with or without "ticking," tiny spots in the white), and we produce some of the best available.

This SMOOTH-COATED litter is available either as companions OR with full AKC papers.

Dusty Rose & Domino's puppy #1 ---

This little dude is a red brindle dapple piebald, and he's shaping up to be a stocky hunk of wienerdog, just like his dad! His crisply-white coat is just like a snowy field on a sunny Colorado day, scattered with black-striped red boulders. Without papers, he's priced at $600; with full AKC registration he's $650. Being a dapple, he could wind up having one or two blue eyes - his mom has one!

This boy is eager to be "best buddies" with a child who will adore and play with him. Dachshunds make excellent children's dogs - too small to be intimidating, like the larger breeds, and they make top-notch bed-warmers, snuggling joyfully under the covers. In the words of the pop tune, "I need somebody to love!" Hey, that's a PUP tune!

There's something really special about a silver-dappled piebald, and this little girl is simply outstanding! The contrast of the plentiful black-speckled silver spots, set against her snowy white, is outrageously beautiful. We're waiting to see what color her eyes will be as an adult - if they're blue, she's going to be absolutely stunning - but we won't know that for sure until she's a few weeks old. Most puppies' eyes look milky-blue at birth, but change color as they get older - we want hers to STAY bright blue! Consequently, her price will be determined AFTER we find out!
