INTRODUCTION:
Wire-haired dachshunds are neat little guys and gals, with typically feisty personalities and great hunting instincts that reflect their terrier heritage. This happy crew was born on December 27, 2010 and will be ready to romp home with their new people on February 28, 2011. Only two are for sale - the solid-black pair are already claimed!
THE PARENTS:
RUBY is our shortest-wirehair, almost smooth in appearance, but she's all wire in temperament - very loving, a great mom, but she could go out and tirelessly hunt all day with the best of them. Generally speaking, wirehairs are great verminators, ridding a home or farm of mice, rats, chipmunks and whatever other critters there might be. Smooth and longhaired doxies are also great hunters, and certain ones excel at it, while others wouldn't bite a mouse if it ran into their mouth!
RINGO is our champion-sired, solid-black smooth-coat, with whom we hoped to produce solid-black wirehairs to fill a special order, which he happily DID - hooray!!!

Flicks Ruby Red Whine MW is a sweet little light-red wirehair, born Oct. 3, 2006, the daughter of Randy, an American cream piebald smoothcoat, and Sparky, a wheaten (pale-gold) wirehair. Sparky, retired now, had a very calm demeanor for a wire, which she gave in good measure to Ruby. Of our wires, Ruby has been the very calmest, best little mama - she loves her pups and her people!

Premiers Johnny Ringo MS, sired by CH Cedar Hills Pokey Poke-Along, and given birth by Cedar Hills Shadows Black Rose, has been a stellar addition to our collection of fine male dachshunds. He has produced nine beautiful solid-black pups, one black dapple (no tan), and one solid chocolate pup for us in the last four years, besides the normal complement of typical black & tan, chocolate & tan, and dappled pups - all in only 5 litters! PUPPY #1 is a black & tan girl, and when she grows up she's going to be a gorgeous little gal! Wirehair dachshunds are supposed to grow a bushy beard and eyebrows, which in the black & tan are right where the tan "points" are on the face, so they really stand out. We got to digging around in Ringo's file folder and found some photos we think you will find interesting - WE did! The first one is his father, CH Cedar Hills Pokey Poke-Along MW - a red wirehair. No wonder Ringo produced wirehair babies with Ruby!
This is Ringo's American (AKC) - Canadian Kennel Club - International Champion grand-sire - another red wirehair!
And this little wirehaired guy is Ringo's AKC Champion and Canadian Champion great-grand-sire - it sure runs in the family!
This black & tan dapple smooth-coat is Ringo's maternal grand-sire. In this photo he was announced a New Champion at the Gallatin Dog Club show, where he took Best of Winners. Our solid-black boy couldn't be better equipped to produce great pups, could he?!
