SPLENDOR & BUCK'S PUPS
Flickennel - Dachshunds with ALTITUDE!!!
INTRODUCTION:

This litter of precious pups was born January 12th and are ready to go home at eight weeks, on March 8, 2012.

MOTHER:
Splendor is a uniquely-marked black & tan dapple longhair unlike any we've ever had or seen - except her nearly-identical-twin brother, Sparky. These two magnificent dogs have a large quantity of "white modifier" in their genes, causing them to have lots of white - normally, we'd say they were piebalds (similar to a paint horse), but it takes two piebald parents to produce pie pups, and neither of their parents are pies. Whatever the cause, they are beautiful!

FATHER:
Buck is our smooth-coated isabella boy who looks like fine-tanned buckskin, with a big dollop of white paint down his front. Buck's dad is Max, our wonderful chocolate piebald, and when we mate Buck and a piebald girl, they make lovely pie puppies. Splendor has the white, but not the pie gene, so only one of these pups has white - the one that looks like Buck!
Smooth-hair is dominant over longhair; Buck has only ever produced smooth-coated pups, and we fully expect these pups to all be smooth as well.

The parents' photos are displayed below their puppies' descriptions.

THE PUPPIES:
MOTHER:

I'm going to let the pictures tell the story of Flicks Splendor in the Grass - she is one unusual dappled dachshund. (More pics below!)
FATHER:
Buck is a muscular little buckskin-hued fella who carries piebald - he's a son of piebald Max (a chocolate pie) and isabella Diva (who isn't pie). He is a VERY STRONG SMOOTH, and has only ever produced smooth pups.
This is Flicks Spark Spangled Banner ML, (Sparky) Splendor's brother, at the Colorado Springs Dog Show, June 2009, taking first place in his class! His handler was Susan Gillings, our good friend and owner of Romeo, the English cream!

Here are Splendor, left, and Sparky, right, so you can see how similar they were at six months old, June 13, 2009. Out of all the doxies at the Weenie-dog Races that day, these were the only black & tan dapples marked like THIS! We now know, Splendor is a mottled, whitened dapple (with that chocolaty-looking 'third color'), while Sparky is probably not mottled, but is also whitened.

PUPPY #6 is an adorable chocolate & tan boy who looks almost good enough to eat - the rich brown of a chocolate dachshund is unmistakable. You won't want to eat this short-haired marvel - you'll want to play with him, love him, and spend the rest of your lives together with him! Find out for yourself how wonderful a Flickennel dachshund is - he's $450 with full registration, or $400 without papers.
PUPPY #1 is a darling isabella & tan girl with a white spot on her chest - like a female version of Buck. She was also claimed before she was a week old, and is going to go live with Rhonda when she's old enough!

"I'M GROWIN' AS FAST AS I CAN, MAMA!"
PUPPY #2 is a lovely black & tan brindle girl - she has slight striping on her tan paws and cheeks. I've said it over and over - this is about the most glamorous look in dachshunds. The "little black dress" is simply snazzy. This baby is priced at $500, or $550 with her AKC registration papers.
PUPPY #3 is also a smooth black & tan girl, just as classy-looking as her sister. This one is really unique - she has a tiny, barely noticeable kink in her tail. What that means is that in all other respects she's just as fine as her siblings, but we make a special consideration of this little blemish, reduce her price to $450 and sell her without any registration papers.
PUPPY #4 is a very handsome blue & tan boy. Splendor is one of our top family line and the dilutes in her clan are always the very best dilutes we produce. This young "dilute black" fellow has already found his new folks - Cassandra B. has had a deposit riding on him since he was barely dried off!

PUPPY #5 is a charming black & tan dapple - the ONLY dapple in this crew, and all the more outstanding because of that fact. We are proud to say we've never a single UGLY puppy, and when one dapple pops up in a batch of solid pups, it's always the first one that catches most people's attention. With the splendid temperaments of his parents, this little "speckled pup" should catch your attention - and your heart! He's priced at only $400, or $450 with full AKC registration.
