MOTHER:
Spot is "unusual" in only having one very small white dapple spot on her entire longhaired chocolate & tan body, on top of her head, hence her name. However, we've bred her to some of our top sires and she's produced such lovely puppies, they just amaze us! She's a genetic gold-mine, full of surprises.

INTRODUCTION:
Born October 30, 2011, almost Hallowieners, these beautiful stocking-stuffer pups were ready to go home on Christmas Day! Now it's after New Year's, so let's just say - "Happy New Year - these cherry-red puppies are wienderful and YOU NEED ONE (OR BOTH) OF THEM!!!"
MOTHER:
Spot is one of the more ho-hum-looking longhaired chocolate & tan dapple dachshunds we've ever seen, but she makes pretty puppies! She looks more like a plain chocolate & tan, with only one tiny white spot on the top of her head to show she might be anything else - it is the only indication that she is truly dapple, besides the fact that she makes dapple puppies! One parent MUST be dapple, and Sergio is 100% NOT dapple.
FATHER:
Sergio is a handsome longhaired English cream from champion bloodlines. His deliciously butter-gold coat almost glows, and matches his royal personality - he knows he's special, but he still loves to romp with his buddies, and be cuddled and loved. He came to visit us on a working vacation, with this litter as one of the results - they're just as beautiful as the rest of his puppies, and we're proud to have introduced his genes into our breeding program - we're keeping several of his babies!

THE PUPPIES:
PUPPY #1 is a very nice red longhair boy, who will carry Mother's chocolate gene and Father's cream (dilute) gene, if you're interested in breeding him to a red or cream, or a chocolate or isabella female you have. He may even produce something really interesting if bred to a blue.....and notice the nifty cream splotch on the side of his face in the photo below! Make this special red pup a treasured member of your family - or try him in the show-ring - for only $500 with his full AKC registration, or $450 without papers. Either way, you will be impressed with his loving personality and eager temperament, so typical of our Flickennel dachshunds!
PUPPY #2 is a charming red dapple longhair, also a boy. His lustrous, luxuriant coat is spotted with lighter-red dapples - sometimes a red will have black spots, sometimes they'll be as if the dog has been splashed with bleach that removed part of the "dye" that originally colored him. We typically have black-spotted red dapples more than light-spotted, but since Sergio is an English cream, this son of his has lighter spots - and being reds, both of these pups MAY lighten in color toward cream as they get older! Only the red dachshunds change this way, making them special in this regard!

English cream is such a glorious coloration for dachshunds, in any of its many variables - lemon cream, rich gold, shaded cream with gray or black overlay, brindle, dapple, or piebald. Red dachshunds in any pattern or coat tend to change their shade of red during their first year, and these little guys have done just that. Sergio is an English cream, and it looks like his sons are going lighter. ... Dapples sometimes disappear, too - guess that's happened to our dapple boy, as well! It's almost impossible to tell them apart!
