INTRODUCTION:
This all-dapple litter was born on January 9, 2012 - our very first litter of the new year, so I gave them a spectacular congratulatory photo - sunrise over Hardscrabble Canyon, eastern Custer County, Colorado, looking east toward Pueblo. (It looks rather like someone nuked Pueblo, doesn't it?!) The pups will be ready to go home on March 3, and since everybody's been wanting dapples lately, you'd better grab one while you can!
MOTHER:
Toffee is the smooth-coated red dapple sister of Taffy, our longhaired red dapple who had such interestingly-colored babies when bred to Blue. We couldn't help wondering if Toffee's litter would look anything like Taffy's, so here's the answer - they're just as pretty, but this bunch is all-dapple, while Taffy's litter had one dapple and five beautiful solids!
FATHER:
Blue is blue - blue & tan, that is - and longhaired. So, with long and short-haired parents, we can get either coat in the pups. The only coat type we WON'T get is wirehair, and that's guaranteed! There's enough dilute-gene influence here that all the puppies either are or carry dilute - the isabella dapple is definitely dilute, so the black & tan and the red dapples are carrying it. That being said..... let's go see the PUPPIES!!!!

PUPPY #1 is a pretty black & tan, liberally splashed with silvery dapples that mark her forever with her own "fingerprint" pattern, unique only to her - and this girl is quite UNIQUE!!! She's priced at $550 as she stands, but another $50 will buy her full AKC registration papers as well.
PUPPY #2 is the pup who looks most like her mother - she's a red dapple, but she's also the ONLY LONGHAIR in this litter. Red dachshunds usually turn a shade or two darker or lighter in their first year - Toffee got a bit darker, but that made her light-red dapples show up all the more. This little lady will cost you $600 if you want her papered, but only $550 if you don't.
PUPPY #3 is the only boy in the litter, an isabella & tan dapple. This is such a lovely and unusual coloring, considering what people think is "normal" for a dachshund - black & tan, or red! You'll be proud to show off this little guy anywhere! He's priced at $600 without papers, or $650 with them.

Toffee is a lovely little gal, the daughter of Apricot Brandy and Cash - both of whom have a boat-load of what it takes to make beautiful dilute puppies. Toffee and her sister Taffy are both gorgeous light-red dapples, and they've both produced GREAT first litters! Toffee's a slim little smooth-coat, and she really put her best effort into making these sweet beauties!

Here's a picture of Blue. He's one of our laid-back dads for whom life is a breeze, so he doesn't get too bothered about anything. He sure likes what he does, though, and his happy little kids are a testimony to that!

We don't often see black & tan dapples marked this way - she's lovely and will only get lovelier as she matures!
